Hi, I’m Coralie, the founder of Grey Globetrotters. Here’s where you can find out a little about me.
Grey Globetrotters is For Women in Midlife and Beyond, Who Want to See More of the World, On Their Own Terms.
I’m a travel addict with more than four decades of international travel experience – to over 35 countries across five continents so far.
I’ve raised a wonderful son on my own, lived in three countries and moved house more than 30 times! That’s made me rather expert at packing, both houses and suitcases and I’ve learned that the best way to travel is carry-on only!
I love affordable luxury, off-the-beaten-track adventures, delicious street food and sipping a cold G&T in new places. Through Grey Globetrotters, I hope to inspire other midlife women to follow their travel dreams too.

3 Things About Me
Growing up pre-internet, I spent hours in libraries and at home pouring over atlases, encyclopaedias and pretty much any books I could get my hands on. I loved novels that gave me an insight into the lives of people in other countries, and a better understanding of history. Today, I still get through a couple of books every week.
My first solo trip was an adventure holiday when I was 10. I researched, planned and badgered my folks into booking it for me and I had a ball.
Four years later, aged 14, I won a competition to work with conservation volunteers in India and Nepal for a month, so off I went without my parents!! On that mesmerising trip, I helped fit a tracking collar on a tiger, swam in a river with fish-eating crocodiles, met people from all over the world, and visited the iconic Taj Mahal and Red Fort.
That visit changed my life – I’d fallen in love with adventurous travel.
Since then I’ve travelled extensively for business and pleasure, in a group, as a couple, with my son and on my own. I’ve made mistakes, however along the way I’ve learned how to plan like a ninja, to score the best travel bargains and to pack so light I only need a cabin bag for most trips.
When friends and colleagues kept asking me how, as a single mum, I can afford my travel adventures and how I always manage to fit so much into my trips, I began blogging to share my travel tips with them and with other midlife women who are just like me.
I am going to keep having fun every day I have left, because there is no other way of life. You just have to decide whether you are a Tigger or an EeyoreRandy Pausch
I’ve met lots of over 50s women like me, with a real hunger to travel adventurously, and often a desire or need to travel solo. They’ve told me they need tips, guides and resources geared towards mature women to help them truly realise their travel dreams.

What’s Different About Grey Globetrotters?
I live in Yorkshire where people are well-known for plain speaking. There’s no fluff, no gloss and no pretence. People tell it how it is.
I’ve brought this approach to Grey Globetrotters, so you’ll only read about places I’ve actually visited and I’ll always give you the full unedited picture.
If something is amazing, I’ll tell you but if something isn’t so good, I’ll let you know that too. It’s only fair.
Thanks for stopping by. I can’t wait to help you plan your travel adventures.
If you have any questions, I’d love to help you. The best way to get in touch is by e-mail. Feel free to drop me an mail through my contact form — I reply to every email I receive.
